Virtual Student Project Presentation

The Chicago Local Section of the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA), the Greater Chicago Chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals, and the Great Lakes Center for Occupational Health and Safety at the University of Illinois at Chicago would like to invite you to join us for a virtual event that honors current students at local universities whose educational focus is IH, Safety, or related environmental health sciences.

Presentation contest: This is an opportunity for local membership and students to view and provide feedback for student presentations on their internship/ poster/ research work. The purpose of this event is to provide students and Chicago AIHA Professional Members with an opportunity to meet each other virtually and for students to demonstrate their presentation skills. This event is intended to provide students and membership with an opportunity that would otherwise be missed due to current pandemic status.

We will also invite a speaker from the AIHA national to provide a brief update on current initiatives.

Students must provide advance notice and an abstract to Salvatore Cali (scali@uic.edu) by April 1 if they intend to present their research or projects at this event. Presenters will be limited to the first 9 students who provide this intent due to time constraints. Presentations and questions will be strictly limited to 10 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for questions.

Attendees will be provided an opportunity to vote on the best 3 presentations. The top 3 presenters will receive gift cards for $150, $100, and $50 respectively. These gifts are made possible due to a generous contribution from Chubb Global Risk Advisors, Chicago office (www.chubb.com/CGRA).

Photo contest: In addition, the event organizers will award a $100 gift card to any attendee for the best photograph that visually represents their own or another person's adjustment to work during the Covid-19 pandemic.
