Verification of Engineering Controls for Reducing the Spread of SARS-CoV-2
The Chicago Local Section of the American Industrial Hygiene Association would like to invite you to an “lunch and learn” webinar on verification of engineering controls for reducing the spread of SARS-CoV-2. The webinar will include presentations by Erik Malmstrom, CEO of SafeTraces, an innovator in DNA-enabled diagnostic solutions and developer of veriDART, a liquid aerosol-based solution for verifying air ventilation and filtration, on verification of engineering controls for reducing the spread of SARS-CoV-2 and Dr. Frank Pagone, PhD, CIH from RHP Risk Management, an industrial hygiene and occupational health consulting firm specializing in the evaluation of exposures to chemicals, noise, vapors, hazardous materials, and biological contaminants. With evidence that infectious aerosols, such as SARS-CoV-2, can transmit from respiratory droplets and via airborne particles in the indoor environment and the CDC recommendations to consider improving engineering controls using building ventilation, businesses should consider evaluating their current building ventilation system, implementing available ventilation controls to reduce indoor air pollutants and infectious disease transmission, and validating the efficacy of new control measures.
The speakers bring expertise from occupational safety and health risk and scientific and DNA technology to give their perspectives on the current state of science regarding the spread of COVID-19 and recommended controls for re-opening and returning to the workplace including ways to verify engineering controls to protect occupational health during and beyond the pandemic.
