This seminar will focus on supervision and preparation for confined space entry. The level of presentation will be targeted to industrial hygienists. The primary topics will include:
Instructors:
Jamar L. Sullivan is a Lieutenant with the Chicago Fire Department, where he has spent most of his 19-year career with the City’s busiest rescue unit. He is an experienced fire service and technical rescue instructor and teaches courses in Hazardous Material Response, Confined Space Rescue, Rope Rescue and Incident Management. Sullivan is also a Squad Officer on the State of Illinois’ Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team where he is responsible for supervising a team of rescue professionals when responding to State of Illinois emergencies and developing training exercises for the USAR team. He is an authorized OSHA trainer for General Industry and Disaster Management, and holds has an A.S. degree in Fire Science and Technician level certifications in almost every rescue discipline.
Mr. Sullivan is Senior Environmental Health & Safety Instructor at OAI, Inc, and has been affiliated with OAI since 2006. Mr. Sullivan is responsible for the delivery of HAZWOPER, OSHA and related courses and the development, revision and review of OAI’s EHS curricula. He also works with OAI contract instructors nationwide to evaluate and provide feedback on training delivery to ensure quality standards are being met.
Salvatore Cali, MPH, CIH is an instructor and researcher at University of Illinois at Chicago and the Technical Training Director/ NIEHS Associate Principal Investigator at OAI, Inc. He has served as Project Manager and Principal or Co-Investigator for numerous occupational & environmental health and safety research projects and grants. He has 25 years of experience as an industrial hygienist. He teaches academic courses in Industrial Hygiene and Safety Engineering, and is an instructor in professional industrial hygiene courses. Mr. Cali has published articles and presented on many industrial hygiene topics, including indoor air quality, biohazards, ventilation design, and lead exposure. At OAI, Mr. Cali is responsible for evaluation and implementation of new developments in health, safety, adult education and training delivery.
